First Practice of the Season
SPRINGFIELD, IL. (October 8, 2018) – The UIS Speech and Debate team is looking for new team members for the 2018-2019 competitive season. Membership on the team is open to all undergraduate students at UIS regardless of major. No previous experience is required to join the team.
The first team practice of the season will take place on Tuesday, October 16 from 4-8 PM in the team’s practice room, WUIS room 2. If you are interested in learning more about the team, this is a great chance to stop by and find out more. Additionally, there will be ice cream available for anyone who visits practice on this day.
The director of the team, Timothy Bill will also be visiting classes around campus over the next few weeks. If you get a chance, make sure to say ‘hello’. He’ll likely be coming to a classroom near you and will happy to answer any questions you have about the team.
The University of Illinois Springfield Speech and Debate Team is committed to training the next generation of civic leaders, public speakers, and communicators who are passionate about effecting change in their communities.
