The University of Illinois Springfield softball team placed five student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. Ella Brinkley, Sophie Margelot, Taylor Zawacki, Rosie Bartletti, and Isabella Wilson represented UIS on the CSC All-District list. 

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes were required to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and meet strict participation guidelines. NCAA softball programs were limited to five nominations each.

Ella Brinkley, an All-GLVC honoree from Danville, Ind. earned All-District honors and was advanced to the All-America ballot. She led the Prairie Stars with a .386 batting average in 2024. Brinkley studies exercise science at UIS.

Sophie Margelot, a senior shortstop from Henderson, Ky., started 53 of 54 games for the Prairie Stars this spring. UIS softball recognized Margelot, an exercise science major, as a senior in 2024.

Taylor Zawacki, a junior from Mokena, Ill. played in 51 games this spring including fourteen starts as a pitcher. Zawacki studies psychology at UIS.

Rosie Bartletti, a sophomore pitcher from Springfield, competed in 48 games this spring including eighteen starts in the circle. Bartletti is an elementary education major.

Isabella Wilson, an All-GLVC honoree from Troy, Mo., was also advanced to the CSC Academic All-America Ballot. She appeared in 50 games this spring, batting .366. Wilson studies accountancy at UIS.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists, including Ella Brinkley and Isabella Wilson, are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 18, 2024.
