The UIS women's golf team had a strong start on day one of the Kansas City Cup before play was suspended at 7:00 p.m. due to fading daylight, with the Prairie Stars partway through the second round.

Day One Recap
  • Elaine Grant leads UIS at 6-over-par, with a 77 in round one and 50 strokes through 12 holes before play was halted due to darkness in round two. She holds the top spot individually, representing the Prairie Stars in a competitive field
  • Sara Prieto is tied for 18th and Arya Gadekar is tied for 30th, both on pace to improve their scores from the first round to the second. Prieto shot an 81 in the first round, while Gadekar shot an 83
  • Ira Joshi is currently in 39th after shooting an 85
  • Isabelle Segal is tied for 53rd, posting a 94 in the first round and 73 through 15 holes of round two
  • In the team standings, UIS is currently 5th of 12 with a total score of 587 strokes after recording 326 strokes in round one and 261 strokes so far in round two
  • Drury University leads the pack with 552 total strokes, while McKendree sits in second at 570 strokes. Maryville University is holding third with 586 strokes
