Community Health Worker
History

"I started at UIS in 2021 after deciding I needed to finish the degree I began several years ago. The knowledge I gained from the world-class professors in the History Department is information I can use in life. The faculty are caring, will help you, and want you to succeed, something I was not used to at the other university I attended.

The education you will gain from the online courses will benefit you for a lifetime. The online program is a great way to complete your degree and still get the same support as if you attended classes in person. You become a community with your professors and classmates. I completed the degree while working full-time as a hospital operator.

After graduation, I will be a community health worker. I can use the skills I learned from the online history degree, like researching and critical thinking, to serve my patients. Being a history major allows you to be more than just a teacher. You can be an asset in various careers. I am so thankful for this program."
