Spring Professional Development Retreat
UIS will be hosting a Professional Development Retreat for all faculty and staff on March 1, 2024. More details, including registration, will be forthcoming.
Employee Development Series
January Session
Human Resources is excited to roll out the Employee Development Series, which is open to all faculty and staff, and will be offered on the last Wednesday morning of each month. Content will include professional development, trainings, and other topics of interest. Our first event of the series is this month and will be presented by Vickie Cook, Vice Chancellor for Enrollment & Retention Management - The Future of Higher Education and the Impact of the Demographic Cliff.
This event will be held in Brookens Auditorium on Wednesday, January 31st from 9-11AM. Release time for the Employee Development Series will be available with supervisor approval. Click here to register.

Paid Leave for All Workers Act
Effective January 1, 2024, the State of Illinois enacted the Paid Leave for All Workers Act. This new law allows eligible employees to earn up to five (5) days of paid leave each year. System Human Resources and UIS Human Resources will be sending communications to all employees with additional information on eligibility and the implementation of this new law.

Effective January 8, 2024, UIS has updated its Counteroffer Policy for Academic Professional and Civil Service employees. The new policy can be found on the Human Resources website.
