The Illinois Springfield women's track & field team had a strong start to its season, highlighted by several top-five finishes at UIndy's Gerry England Invitational on Friday evening.

Meet Highlights
  • Josslyn Gaona led the way with a victory in the one mile run in 5:33, setting the tone for the team's success throughout the meet.
  • In the women's 800 meters, UIS showcased depth with Lillian Buzani finishing second at 2:30, followed by Norah Wright in third at 2:33, Kali Gaden in fourth at 2:35, and Camille Terre rounding out the top five with a time of 2:38.
  • The women's 4x400m relay team, consisting of Kali Gaden, Marissa Roggensack, Camille Terre, and Norah Wright, captured another victory for UIS, finishing first with a time of 4:26.
  • Allison Thompson delivered a strong performance in the 3000 meters, securing 2nd place with a time of 11:09.
