UIS men's basketball's Jack Weber has been named the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Month for December 2024, after a month filled with milestones while continuing to be a key starter and a reliable contributor for the team.

Weber became the all-time leader in both points and rebounds for the UIS men's basketball program during December. He led the team with 94 total points, averaging 15.6 points per game while shooting 50.5% (43-85) from the field. Early in the month, Weber surpassed two of the program's all-time records during a 19-point, 1-rebound performance in a conference game at McKendree, becoming both the all-time leading scorer and rebounder. He broke the previous record of 1,447 career points to claim the top spot in that category. On December 11, during a game against Kentucky Wesleyan, Weber surpassed 400 defensive rebounds, marking another significant career milestone. As of the start of 2025, Weber has accumulated 1,487 career points and 593 total rebounds.

Weber's best offensive performance of the month came on Dec. 6, when he scored 24 points in a game against Maryville. His contributions helped the team win three of their last five games, momentum which they look to carry into conference play in January.

Jimmy John's Athlete of the Month honorees from the 2024-25 year will be recognized at the annual Night of Stars banquet at the end of the spring semester. All honorees will also be considered for UIS Male Athlete of the Year and UIS Female Athlete of the Year awards at the conclusion of the current year of competition.
