Janvi Sehdev of Jalandhar, Punjab, India, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for Spring Semester 2025 and awarded an $8,000 Star Scholar Award for tuition over four years. She will major in computer science at UIS.
The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed for a total of four years if the student maintains college GPA requirements.
In high school, Sehdev was involved in sketching, crafts, embroidery, painting, badminton and cooking.
She chose UIS because “UIS has been ranked among the top 15 public regional universities and is popular in the USA,” she said.
All undergraduate first-year students are automatically eligible for Star Scholar First Year Scholarships. To receive $8,000 over four years, the student must have an unweighted GPA of 3.00-3.24.
