Bio: Jennifer Haegele-Ryterski is a member of the 2019 cohort. She has over 14 years of experience in database creation and management, spatial and statistical analyses, and working with criminal justice data. Her research interests include the psychological behavior of officers and offenders during times of crisis, the use of cognitive behavioral therapies in community corrections, linking places to offender behavior, and social equity and justice in public administration. Since the fall of 2017, Jennifer has been working to enhance evidence-based practices in the state of Illinois by implementing new advancements to the data collection process throughout probation. These advancements will allow for a variety of analysis that will greatly impact the AOIC’s ability to examine department practices and outcomes, as well as increase AOIC’s capacity to encourage departments to become more efficient and better respond to the criminogenic needs of probation clients throughout the state. Her dissertation is entitled, Queering probation in four frames: How LGBTIQ+ probationers and their probation officers perceive factors within the Bolman and Deal framework that impact their successful probation completion.
