Jose Rodriguez-Stahr of Thayer, a 2017 graduate of Reavis High School in Burbank, Illinois, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for Fall Semester 2022 and awarded a $4,000 Lincoln Merit Scholarship for tuition over two years. At UIS, he will major in pre-nursing.

The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed for a total of four years if the student maintains college GPA requirements.

In high school, he played football and was on the wrestling and track teams.

Following his two years of pre-nursing at UIS, he plans to earn his bachelors of science in nursing (BSN) from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing’s Springfield Regional Campus.

All undergraduate first year students are automatically eligible for Lincoln Merit Scholarships. These scholarships are automatically applied upon admission and are based solely on high school GPA. In order to receive $4,000 over two years, the student must have an unweighted GPA of 3.20-3.39.
