Kailyn Middleton of New Berlin, a senior at New Berlin High School, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for Fall Semester 2023 and awarded a $10,000 Memorial Pre-Nursing Scholarship, which is renewable annually.

At New Berlin High School, she has been involved in Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Key Club, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and FFA.

“I am choosing UIS because I am interested in going to UIC for their Nursing School, and going to UIS is my best decision for my pre-requisite classes,” she said.

Following graduation from the UIC College of Nursing Springfield Campus (located at UIS), she plans to become a travel nurse for a few years to save money and travel the world. After being a travel nurse, she would like to go into pediatrics and work with children.
