Game Summary
  • Missouri S&T came out strong, scoring in the third minute and forcing UIS goalkeeper Joe Brudnak into two saves within the first ten minutes of play
  • UIS faced difficulties in generating offensive opportunities, prioritizing defense over attack in the first half. Defender Noah Brill played a pivotal role in preserving the close scoreline, providing solid support at the back
  • In the second half, UIS intensified their search for a goal, with their best opportunity coming from Cullen Ogbuke, whose shot narrowly missed the target
  • Kevin Herrera provided a spark for UIS in the 72nd minute, scoring with a low shot following an assist from Joey Fitzgerald
  • Missouri S&T reclaimed the lead in the 83rd minute when Banasik netted his second goal of the night, assisted by Luke Giesing, bringing the score to 2-1
  • Despite a late surge and two more attempts on goal, UIS couldn't capitalize on their chances as the clock wound down. Brudnak had a busy night, finishing with five crucial saves to keep the team in contention
"Tonight's game was challenging for us as we struggled to find our rhythm," noted Head Coach Graham Shaw. "We had difficulty capitalizing on our opportunities in the first half, and while we improved in the second half, we ultimately fell short. Now, we have a quick turnaround to prepare for Sunday's game."
