We are pleased to announce that the 2024-2025 UIS Leadership Lived Experience (LLE) application is now available. The LLE program was launched in December 2013 with the purpose of improving undergraduate student retention by increasing employment opportunities on campus and providing professional development experiences. This year, the Leadership Lived Experience program is supported through the collective efforts of Student Employment, the Career Development Center and the Office of Engaged Learning.

Students working in an LLE position can expect to gain both professional skills and real-world experience while pursuing their degree. To learn more about LLE program requirements refer to the attached document. Please note that the LLE criteria closely aligns with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies

We invite you to join this initiative by applying for a position that offers an enriched employment experience, allowing our students to further enhance their educational journey. Be sure to apply by the priority deadline for full consideration as the LLE working group is only able to approve a limited number of applications based on funding. Please only submit position opportunities that will allow students to develop professional-level skills and projects that enrich the college experience while meeting the hour requirements for an academic internship through the Office of Engaged Learning.

Priority Application Deadline is Noon on Friday, June 21st for full consideration. Applications received after that date/time may still be considered if funding allows.

Status notifications will be provided on or before Monday, July 8, 2024. Departments can post their approved position on CareerConnect powered by Handshake by following the current student employment rules and procedures.

Sincerely,

The Leadership Lived Experience Working Group:
