Bio:
Matt is a career civil servant at the local, state, and federal government levels and has served in the U.S. Army Reserve for over 21 years with three overseas deployments. Matt serves as a Senior Program Analyst in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). In this role, Matt is an emergency management planner supporting health and medical response planning for disasters, emergencies, and national security special events. He has served as a municipal and higher education police officer, a federal emergency manager, and several operations and training roles for the federal government. As a Military Police Officer, Matt holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and serves as battalion commander of a military police battalion.
Matt currently works as the Chief of Plans on the HHS Coordination Operations and Response Element (formerly known as Operation Warp Speed and the Countermeasures Acceleration Group) as the lead federal agency to develop, manufacture, and deliver safe and effective vaccines and therapeutics to the American people. Matt holds the distinction of being a National Security Fellow from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. Matt and his wife have two wonderful children.
