The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team had four athletes featured on the College Sports Communicators(CSC) Academic All-District list.

The CSC Academic All-American program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for a combination of success on the court and in the classroom, requiring that nominees maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better on a 4.0 scale and meet strict participation requirements. NCAA tennis programs were limited to four nominations each.

UIS is represented by Matthew Lapsley, Lin En Tan, Pablo Herrera, and Rafa Rojas.

Rafa Rojas, a native of Las Rozas, Spain, studied business administration at UIS. He was 10-4 in singles play in 2024, 1-5 in doubles matches. Rojas exhausted his eligibility this spring after five seasons with the Prairie Stars.

Matthew Lapsley, a sixth-year student from Amherst, N.H., was recognized as a senior this spring. He boasted a 9-5 record in No. 6 singles. Lapsley studied chemistry at UIS.

Lin En Tan, a junior transfer from University of the Cumberlands, is studying computer science. He had a 6-5 singles record and 11-3 doubles record in his first season at UIS.

Pablo Herrera, a sophomore from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, was an All-GLVC selection this spring. He went 5-0 in GLVC singles matches and 3-2 in GLVC doubles matches this spring, 10-3 in singles and 10-5 in doubles overall. Herrera also studies computer science.

An elite group of 18 student-athletes, promoted from the All-District list, were named First Team, Second Team, and Third Team CSC Academic All-American on Wednesday.
