Dear UIS Community,

As we approach Election Day, Nov. 5, I want to emphasize the importance of being prepared to participate in our democracy by having a voting plan in place. It’s crucial for each of you to know when and where you will cast your vote.

Take time to determine how you intend to participate in this election—whether it’s through early voting or going to your polling location on Election Day. For those voting on Election Day, polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and a shuttle will be available from campus to the polling locations for those registered with a campus address. Please refer to the Illinois State Board of Elections website for information about registering to vote if you still need to do so. While online voter registration is now closed, you can still register at your polling location by bringing two forms of identification with at least one showing your current Illinois home address.

For further details, please visit the State Board of Elections website. Students can also contact the Volunteer & Civic Engagement Center for additional assistance in developing a voting plan.

Let’s come together as a UIS community and actively engage in this important civic duty. Thank you for your commitment to making your voices heard!
