Dear Faculty and Staff —

I am pleased to share that Dr. Miriam L. Wallace has been named the new dean of the UIS College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. She will serve as dean-designate until formal approval by the Board of Trustees and is expected to start in her new role July 1.

Dr. Wallace earned a doctorate and master’s degree in literature from the University of California Santa Cruz and a bachelor’s degree in literature from Swarthmore College. She recently held the role of division chair for humanities at New College of Florida and has had a long career at various levels of teaching and administration in a COPLAC institution.
