Dear UIS Students –

Commencement is one of the most memorable days of a student’s college experience, and as your chancellor, I want to be sure we best understand what is important to you regarding how UIS Commencement is offered and structured.

Traditionally, UIS Commencement takes place at the convention center in downtown Springfield in May. Lately, there has been interest in returning commencement activities to campus in the future, and we are exploring that possibility; however, that requires us to better understand what matters most to our students.

I am asking that ALL students — whether you learn on-ground, online, part time or full time — spend 4-7 minutes to take our UIS Commencement Survey to help us make an informed decision about the future location of commencement and other details that go into making this a special day for our graduates. The survey is open April 17-28, and any student who provides their email upon completing the survey will be entered into a drawing to receive one of ten $20 giftcards to Starbucks.
