The UIS volleyball team dropped their only contest of the weekend on Saturday afternoon to No. 22 Quincy in straight sets. With the loss, UIS drops to 11-5 overall with a 3-2 record in GLVC play. Quincy improves to 16-1 overall with a 5-0 record in conference play.
Set One
- Quincy jumped out to an early lead, scoring the first 7 points of the match
- The Prairie Stars rallied back, tying the set at 12
- A five point swing in favor of the Hawks gave them a 21-16 lead
- Quincy kept UIS at bay the rest of the set, winning 25-20
- UIS started fast, taking a 4-0 lead but Quincy scored the next six points
- QU increased their lead at 14-7 halfway through the set
- The Hawks led by as many as eight points
- UIS went on a little run to trim to lead, but Quincy closed out the set with a an ace
- QU won 25-19
- The third set was back-and-forth the entire way through, with neither team holding a lead by more than four points
- UIS held a four point lead, 20-16, after a kill from Eirini Glynou
- Quincy scored nine out of the last ten possible points to win the match
- QU sealed the set and match with a service ace, 25-21
