The 2023-24 WGCA All-American Scholar Team was announced on Monday. A pair of Prairie Stars in Arya Gadekar and Sara Prieto were recognized for the first time in their careers.
In order to be named a WGCA All-American Scholar, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 and must have played 50% of the team's competitive rounds.
Arya Gadekar, a graduate student from Pune, India, competed in five tournaments during the spring season and finished the season with a 81.8 adjusted scoring average. She was the 34th-place finisher at the GLVC Women's Golf Championships in April.
Sara Prieto also competed in five spring tournaments and finished the year with a 82.8 adjusted scoring average.The junior from Bogota, Colombia took 33rd place at the GLVC Women's Golf Championship and 66th place at the NCAA DII East Regional.
A total of 1,497 women's collegiate golfers from 412 programs were recognized with this prestigious honor.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 750 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
