Bio:

Hassan Adam Hosow is an economic policy professional with over 15 years of experience in policy development, analysis, implementation, regulatory affairs, and the humanitarian sector. He gained significant expertise in the Canadian public sector, particularly during his time as an energy economics and strategy advisor at the Ministry of Energy, Government of Alberta, where he contributed to initiatives like the 2015 Alberta Royalty Review and the implementation of the Alberta Climate Leadership Plan.

Hassan also served as an Advisor to the Executive Director/Provincial Assessor at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, Alberta, where he supported the centralization of multi-billion-dollar designated industrial properties following amendments to the Alberta Municipal Government Act.

In 2019, Hassan joined the United Nations as Senior Economic Advisor to the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and the Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia, where he worked on economic development and state-building initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.

In May 2022, Hassan assumed the role of Chief Economic Advisor to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia and Executive Director of the National Economic Council, where he led economic policy advisory support and national development initiatives, including the formulation of the Centennial Vision 2060.
