Sharmeen Shafiq appreciates the University of Illinois Springfield’s small, close-knit community and the support professors provide to students. She is president of the International Student Association and social media coordinator for the Society for Advancement of Management Club. Shafiq chose UIS for its affordability and opportunities to get involved in leadership and student organizations. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in management information systems to further develop her skills.
