Three members of the Illinois Springfield volleyball team have earned spots on the 2024 All-GLVC teams, announced during the league's pre-tournament banquet on Thursday evening. Redshirt freshman Makenna Cox secured First Team honors, while senior Eirini Glynou and junior Erica Sledge were named to the Second Team.

Makenna Cox | Redshirt Freshman | Springfield, Ill.
Cox has been a dominant force for the Prairie Stars this season, leading the team with 426 kills and averaging 4.18 kills per set—ranking 11th in NCAA Division II. A dynamic all-around player, she also contributed 372 digs, 43 blocks, and 32 service aces, amassing 482.5 total points in the regular season. This breakout campaign marks her first All-GLVC award and establishes her as one of the top emerging players in the league.

Eirini Glynou | Senior | Athens, Greece
Glynou has been a consistent and versatile performer for the Prairie Stars, closing the regular season with 352 kills at an average of 3.45 kills per set. She reached a career milestone on Senior Day, surpassing 1,000 kills in a victory over No. 18 UMSL. Beyond her offensive contributions, Glynou tallied 322 digs, 31 blocks, and 39 service aces, finishing with 412 total points. As UIS begins postseason play, Glynou remains a key leader for the team.

Erica Sledge | Junior | Matteson, Ill.
Sledge has been the engine of the UIS offense, distributing 978 assists to rank fifth in the GLVC during the regular season. In addition to her playmaking, she added 80 kills, 36 service aces, and vital defensive contributions, showcasing her versatility and court awareness. Sledge's performance has been key to the Prairie Stars' success, cementing her as one of the conference's top setters.

Kendall Johnson was the team's GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Honoree. Each institution names one honoree per sport each year, making them a candidate for the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award. At the end of the academic year, one male and one female student-athlete are selected as the institution's award winners.

The Prairie Stars, seeded fifth in the GLVC Tournament, will face fourth-seeded Rockhurst in the quarterfinals on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
