The UIS Baseball team is set to kick off the 2025 season in February, marking the second season under head coach Trevor Forde. The first home games come to the UIS Baseball Field on Saturday, Feb. 22.
The Prairie Stars will begin the season on the road with a four-game series against Tusculum on Feb. 7-8 in Greeneville, Tenn. Following that, they will participate in the MSSU Lion Classic in Joplin, Mo., from Feb. 14-16, facing off against Drury, Minnesota State - Mankato, and Truman State.
After the road trips, UIS will return to Springfield to host Northwood for a four-game series on Feb. 22-23. These early home games will serve as a strong test against regional opponents before the team enters conference play.
The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) schedule, consisting of eight series, will begin in March, with UIS hosting Lewis University from March 7-9 at the UIS Baseball Field. The conference schedule will run from March 7 to May 4, with a break for a non-conference series against Missouri Southern from April 11-13. GLVC matchups include (home games bolded):

Returning Prairie Stars with postseason accolades from 2024 include catcher Ivan Dahlberg, infielder/designated hitter Mark Kattula, and pitcher Adam Wibbenmeyer. Additionally, the team welcomes back Seth Masters, who was named Second Team All-GLVC in 2022. With the addition of five freshmen and 19 transfers, UIS is set to field a versatile lineup for the upcoming season.
