The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team (0-2-0) suffered a 5-1 defeat to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside (2-0-1) at Kiwanis Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

  • The Prairie Stars took an early lead when Anton Aduwa-Emovon scored in the 12th minute with an assist from Kevin Herrera
  • The Rangers equalized just before halftime
  • Parkside was awarded a penalty kick in the 54th minute, which they converted to take a 2-1 lead
  • UIS had a chance to equalize with their own penalty kick shortly after, but Aduwa-Emovon's attempt was saved by Parkside's goalkeeper, Daniyal Rana
  • Parkside extended their lead with goals in the 63rd, 73rd, and 81st minutes 
  • The teams each had 12 shots, but Parkside had an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal 
  • UIS goalkeeper Edoardo Pinna made 3 saves but conceded 5 goals. Parkside's Daniyal Rana also had 3 saves while allowing 1 goal
