The UIS men's soccer team secured its first victory under the leadership of first-year head coach Graham Shaw on Friday night. In an exciting matchup at Kiwanis Stadium, the University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team triumphed over Truman State with a score of 2-0. This victory propelled UIS to a record of 1-2-1 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play, while Truman State fell to 1-3-0 and 0-2-0 in the GLVC.

"I felt we controlled the game tonight, especially after last week's gritty performance where the team showed a lot og character by equalizing despite being a man down." said Coach Shaw. "It was great to see such a strong performance against a tough Truman State team. Overall, we've had a decent start to GLVC play, but we know the challenges ahead. Now, we need to prepare for a solid Quincy side on Sunday."
