The UIS men's soccer team was ranked No. 17 in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA DII preseason poll, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
The Prairie Stars boasted a 13-1-7 overall record in 2023 and claimed the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) regular-season title. The team was ranked as high as No. 8 mid-season, then would finish the year ranked No. 17 after a loss to Lewis in the NCAA Second Round.
GLVC opponents also featured in the preseason top-25 include No. 4 Lewis, No. 12 Maryville, No. 15 Indianapolis, and No. 24 McKendree.
UIS is set to open regular season non-conference play against Purdue Northwest on Sept. 8. The Prairie Stars will then host Parkside on Sept. 12 ahead of conference play.
