Upload Job Descriptions in JDXpert by December 20
To comply with State University Civil Service System rules and requirements, job descriptions for all Academic Professional and Civil Service employees must be uploaded in JDXpert by December 20. The uploading of a job description may be done by the supervisor OR the designated department contact. A set of instructions can be found here. Did you miss the job description training that HR held on November 15? No worries! A link to the training will appear on the HR website within the next few days.
UIS Now Posting Jobs on HireEd.com
UIS has a new opportunity to market job openings on HireEd.com, a website created by Academic Impressions that promotes open positions in higher education. UIS Human Resources staff is posting Faculty, Academic Professional and Civil Service positions to HiredEd.com on behalf of the hiring department.
Volunteer Opportunities for UIS Employees
HR is partnering with the Office of the Chancellor and the Volunteer & Civic Engagement Center to develop and promote community volunteer opportunities for UIS employees, but we need your help! Attend a Brown Bag Event on Tuesday, November 22 from 12-1pm in the Student Union Ballroom, South End, to brainstorm and share your thoughts on how UIS employees can make an impact in the Springfield community.
Attend the Know Your U Moon Party
HR is excited to announce the return of Know Your U programing! Our first event will be a “Moon Party” on Wednesday, November 30 from 7-9pm at the UIS Campus Observatory on the roof of Brookens Library. This event will be hosted by Chancellor Gooch and led by Dr. John C. Martin, Associate Professor of Astronomy and Physics, and will be open exclusively for UIS employees and their guests. Help Us Put the Human Back in Human Resources
Human Resources is staffed with real humans. Sometimes we get sick and miss work. Sometimes we celebrate life events and miss work. Sometimes we take vacations and sometimes we attend annual conferences away from the office. We understand it can be frustrating when the person you need to speak with is unavailable. You have our assurance that we will do our best to address your concern or find someone else to help in our absence.
