The UIS volleyball team continues conference play with only one match this weekend, coming against the nationally-ranked Quincy Hawks on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

The Prairie Stars went 2-0 in road games last weekend against Truman State and Upper Iowa. Thursday night against TSU was a back-and-forth battle that saw UIS prevail in five sets. The Bulldogs took sets one and four, while UIS took sets two, three, and five. The Prairie Stars jumped into an early lead in the decisive fifth set and never let TSU get close as they took the set and match (22-25, 25-20, 25-19, 19-25, 15-9). Saturday's contest came against Upper Iowa in Fayette. The Prairie Stars cruised to a win in the first set behind Upper Iowa's offensive mistakes. The Peacocks responded in set two to even the match at one set apiece. UIS took control in sets three and four, leaning on Makenna Cox and Eirini Glynou, who finished with 17 and 15 kills, respectively. A long road trip was capped perfectly as the Prairie Stars earned a well-deserved win (25-14, 18-25, 25-18, 25-19).

No. 22 Quincy
The Hawks also traveled to Upper Iowa and Truman State last weekend, earning five-set victories at both. Friday night against UIU was a test of Quincy's resilience as the Peacocks took the first and second set. Knowing that they needed to win three sets in a row, Quincy came out swinging to try and maintain their perfect conference record. The Hawks earned dominant victories in sets three and four to set up a winner-take-all fifth set. Quincy ran ahead with a 10-4 lead that Upper Iowa was not able to recover from. Quincy showed why they are nationally ranked with a reverse sweep win (20-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-13, 15-8). Saturday's matchup against Truman State wasn't any easier as they Bulldogs also pushed QU to five sets. Quincy dominated the first set, but Truman State took set two with a late run. The Hawks got off to a hot start in the third set and were able to keep the Bulldogs at bay to take a set advantage. The fourth set was tight throughout, but another late TSU run forced the match into a fifth set. Quincy held a slim lead in the fifth set, but the sides traded point-for-point to close out the set in favor of Quincy, which was capped by an Emma Wijnbergen kill. QU's victory continued their perfect GLVC start (25-15, 25-27, 25-19, 22-25, 15-12).
