Webtools Forms and Surveys Updates

Web Services has released two new updates to Webtools Forms and Surveys. 1) A Files tab has been added for supporting documents and 2) the Access tab has been updated with new settings. These updates position Web Services for upcoming enhancements to the Forms tool which will allow for form editing, event registration, and an approval process.

Forms and Surveys Updates

Access tab

On the Access tab the settings names have been changed, however these changes will work exactly as they did before.

  • 'Public' has been changed to 'Anonymous'
  • 'Secured' has been changed to 'Restricted'

Files tab

A new ‘Files tab’ has been add for uploading supporting files. This is in reference to files uploaded by the admin, not the user filling out the form or survey. For instance, you could upload an image that the users need to see to be able to answer the question. The image is uploaded on the files tab and then available to insert in a dropdown box in the text editor for any 'instruction' or 'header'.

Forms Only Updates

Access tab

A new access setting of ‘Verified’ has been added. The ‘Verified’ setting should be used when anyone can take the form but you always need to know who filled it out (users both internal and external to the university).

Webtools users do not have to make any changes, just please be aware of the new changes on the Files and Access tabs.
