Get ready for an exciting week of competition for UIS as the Prairie Stars hit the road for several key matchups across basketball, track & field, and tennis.

Thursday, Jan. 16
5:30 p.m. - Women's Basketball at Southwest Baptist
The Prairie Stars (3-12, 2-5 GLVC) went on a three-game winning streak after winter break before dropping Saturday's game to Quincy. They will travel to Bolivar, Mo., to face Southwest Baptist (5-8, 3-4 GLVC) on Thursday night. SBU's conference wins this season include two victories over Lincoln and one against William Jewell, with their most recent win being a second triumph over Lincoln this past Saturday. SBU leads the all-time series with UIS 7-3.

7:30 p.m. - Men's Basketball at Southwest Baptist
UIS men's basketball (7-8, 2-5 GLVC) will meet the Southwest Baptist Bearcats (6-6, 3-3 GLVC) this upcoming Thursday. UIS has won three of their last five games, splitting the past weekend's home games with a win against Truman State before losing to Quincy. SBU is on a three-game losing streak and will play a postponed game against Missouri-St. Louis on Monday. Their most recent win was against non-conference opponent Williams Baptist (Ark.) on Dec. 16. SBU leads UIS at 4-3 since their first meeting in 2020. 

Friday, Jan. 17
3:30 p.m. Central (4:30 p.m. Eastern) - Track & Field at Gerry England Invitational
The UIS women's and men's track & field teams travel to Indianapolis for the Gerry England Invitational, with running events beginning at 4:30 p.m. local time. It marks the indoor track & field season opener for the Prairie Stars. 

Saturday, Jan. 18
9:30 a.m. Central (10:30 a.m. Eastern) - Track & Field at Hoosier Horsepower Classic
The Prairie Stars remain in Indianapolis for the Hoosier Horsepower Classic at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, wrapping up two meets in their opening weekend.

12:00 p.m. - Women's Basketball at Rockhurst
UIS travels to Kansas City, Mo., to face the Rockhurst Hawks (4-9, 2-5 GLVC). The Hawks' GLVC wins came against William Jewell and Southwest Baptist, though they have lost their last three games. UIS leads the all-time series 10-9. Rockhurst will host Indianapolis on Thursday before welcoming UIS to Mason-Halpin Field House.

2:30 p.m. - Women's Tennis at SIUE
The UIS women's tennis team faces SIUE in an exhibition match in Edwardsville, IL, competing for the first time in 2025. Live results will be available on iOnCourt.

3:00 p.m. - Men's Basketball at Rockhurst
The Prairie Stars take on the Rockhurst Hawks (11-4, 5-2 GLVC). Rockhurst won six consecutive games before losing to Maryville on Thursday but rebounded by defeating Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday. The Hawks are one of three GLVC men's basketball teams with five conference wins this season. UIS trails Rockhurst 11-8 all-time, last defeating them in January 2023. Rockhurst will host Indianapolis on Thursday before meeting UIS.
