The Illinois Springfield women's cross country team faced strong regional competition at the Lewis Crossover on Saturday morning, finishing 24th out of 36 teams with a total of 643 points. 

Race Summary
  • Leading the Prairie Stars was Madelyn Miller, who finished 62nd overall with a time of 22:20
  • Kaleigh Inniss was next for UIS, crossing the line at 23:01 to secure 116th place
  • Jordan Serrahn also contributed solidly, finishing in 23:18 for 152nd
  • The team's scoring was rounded out by Lillian Buzani, who finished 207th in 23:49, and Jade Aubrey, who clocked in at 23:51 for 209th place
  • Lauren McBride was right behind, finishing in 23:54 for 213th place, while Marissa Roggensack completed the race in 23:55, placing 214th to wrap up the team's tight seven-runner spread
  • The team averaged 23:16 for the 6k race, with a spread of 90 seconds between its top five runners
  • UIS finished 24th in a competitive field, trailing GLVC opponents Lewis and Truman State but securing victories over regional rivals Saginaw Valley State and Tiffin
