The purpose of the fund is to provide merit scholarship assistance to all Capital scholar students. Gifts to this fund are pooled to provide the following. Named endowments may be established to provide Capital Scholar merit awards as well. All categories are renewable for up to four years if the student is in good standing. Students are expected to be full-time, residential. Incoming Freshmen will receive $1,000 annual renewable for four-year Student Aid and will be called Capital Scholars. Students who have achieved a superior ranking in their high school class will be awarded $2,000 annually and will be called Dean Scholars. Students who have achieved the rank of valedictorian, salutatorian or other superior ranking in their high school class and have received statewide or national recognition for academic achievement will receive $3,500 annually. Students who have been honored as National Merit scholars or finalists will receive $10,000 annually. Students honored in one category will not receive scholarship dollars in other categories.
