This scholarship benefits undergraduate student athletes. It shall be awarded in accordance with all applicable University, Great Lakes Valley Conference, and National Collegiate Athletic Association rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics at UIS. After working for his father-in-law for many years, in 1994 Glen Garrison established his own company, The Garrison Group, Inc., which specializes in commercial real estate. Glen has served on many charitable boards, including UIS' Development Board for seven years. Lola has a strong connection to UIS: Her father, Leonard Sapp, was instrumental in securing the land for Sangamon State University (now UIS). Now that their three children have grown up, Lola contributes her time, talents, and wisdom to many church and volunteer organizations. Glen and Lola are happy to help young people from areas surrounding Springfield to receive an education. To their recipients, they say: “Congratulations and God-speed.
