The UIS Gerlinde Coates International Student Award shall be used to provide the Gerlinde Coates International Student Award, of no less then $500, to a recipient who meets all the following criteria: The recipient must be an international student, studying at UIS. The recipient must display exceptional commitment to the advancement of international and cross-cultural education. The recipient must actively support the goals and activities of UIS International students. The recipient must be in good academic standing, with no current evidence of academic probation. The recipient must be full time as defined by UIS regarding international students. The fund also will be used to provide a scholarship, of not less than $500, for the Gerlinde Coates International Student Scholarship to a recipient who meets the following criteria: The recipient must be an international student, studying at UIS on a temporary Visa. The recipient must display exceptional commitment to the advancement of international and cross-cultural education. The recipient must actively support the goals and activities of UIS International students. The recipient must be in good academic standing, with no current evidence of academic probation. The recipient must be full time as defined by UIS regarding international students.
