Gifts for the Pre-Nursing Fund shall be used to provide Student Aid for freshman and sophomore students enrolled at UIS who intend to enroll in the UIC College of Nursing and earn the BSN degree. The candidates shall demonstrate academic merit. In accordance with the University's commitment to diversity and the commitment of the UIC College of Nursing to building a diverse nurse workforce, preference shall be given to candidates who are from underrepresented groups. The Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois at Springfield, or designee, in consultation with the Dean of the UIC College of Nursing, or designee, shall determine the recipients, amounts and timing of the Student Aid to be awarded, subject to the approval of the appropriate University officials.
