In honor of his late wife Sandra “Sandy” Cross, UIS alumni board member, Brian Cross (PAA 1994) has created a scholarship in her name. Sandy was a non-traditional student who attended the College of DuPage and graduated from Elmhurst College. She was a champion for women's rights and equality for all. Sandy and Brian got married in 2000 and she actively supported Brian in his every endeavor. She was an avid sports woman, playing hockey every week. Sandy passed away shortly after giving birth to their daughter, Kennedy Cross in November of 2007. The Sandra M. Cross Scholarship was created for a female student from the Chicago area with demonstrated financial need to help realize the dream of a college degree.
