UIS-CSI: Crime Scene Institute

High School students learn to investigate a crime scene utilizing the Residential Simulation Lab at UIS.  The Criminology, Chemistry and Child Advocacy Studies programs will collaborate to create an experiential crime scene, utilizing interviewing skills and problem-based learning.

When: July 7 & 8, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (students can arrive as early as 8am and be picked up by 4pm).

UIS to hold four academic summer camps for middle and high school students

University of Illinois Springfield Continuing and Professional Education (CAPE) will offer four academic summer camps for middle and high school students in June and July. Each experience will be led by a UIS faculty member and will offer students a challenging, fun and affordable summer experience.

Who should attend: Talented middle school students who are interested in advanced mathematical problems.

Topics of workshop: Fibonacci numbers, a taste of calculus and the art of estimation.

Session requirements: No books are required. Learning materials will be provided by the instructor. A digital badge will be received for all participants who complete.
