Faculty Feedback: Help Improve Library Services

Dear UIS Faculty Members:

The Senate Committee on the Library invites you to participate in a brief survey designed to better understand how faculty use, value, and evaluate library resources. Your insights are vital in helping us improve and tailor library services to better support your teaching, research, and professional needs.

The survey will take approximately 5–10 minutes to complete and will remain open until midnight on April 16th.

New Interface for EBSCOhost Databases

On Friday, March 14, the library will transition to the new EBSCOhost user interface. EBSCOhost has used customer feedback, usage data, user research, and usability studies to update the EBSCOhost interface.  All EBSCOhost databases—including Academic Search Complete, PsycInfo, and others have the new interface. While the database content will remain the same, the user interface will provide users with a more intuitive, streamlined search experience.

Chancellor’s CAPE, CARE, and Star Awards

Please join us on March 13, 2025 to celebrate this year's CARE and CAPE Award nominees and hear the chancellor announce the award winners. The Chancellor’s Award Recognizing Excellence in Civil Service (CARE) and the Chancellor’s Academic Professional Excellence Award (CAPE) have been awarded annually at UIS for the past 18 and 22 years. Each year, we receive nominations highlighting members of our campus community who consistently go above and beyond their duties and truly exemplify excellence. We will also announce the winners of the Nova, Orion, Polaris, and Sirius Awards.
