Good afternoon!
Thank you to all faculty and staff who registered for Friday’s Rise Professional Development Retreat. Below are three things to know to help support a successful event.

Good morning, UIS!
The snowfall at the end of last week is a good reminder that winter is still with us. Thank you to our Facilities and Services employees, who we rely on in the worst conditions to clear roads, parking lots and sidewalks to help us safely work and learn. We’re only one month away from the first day of spring — not that I’m counting!
Dear Colleagues —
As part of our ongoing Rise initiative, our leadership team is hosting a Spring Employee Information Session from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 22 in the Student Union Ballroom.

UIS Commencement is just shy of 100 days away, and our Commencement Committee has been hard at work planning this year’s ceremonies, slated for May 10 and 11.

Good morning, UIS:
It’s February, which means it’s Black History Month! The theme this year is, “BHM 2024 Roots and Rhythm.” The Diversity Center has worked very hard to put together events that showcase the importance of BHM and to provide us opportunities to learn and grow. I encourage you to check out all the events happening on campus.

Good morning!
I am thrilled to share that we are offering faculty and staff the opportunity to attend another on-campus Professional Development Retreat as part of our Rise initiative. This semester’s retreat will take place Friday, March 1, and is focused on Redefining Workplace Culture.
