All faculty and staff are invited to attend the UIS Performing Arts Center Spooktacular Open House from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 30.

This year, prepare to be thrilled by a variety of behind-the-scenes experiences and ghostly libations that promises an adult trick or treat like no other! Come and go as you like, but don't miss out on this eerie evening of enchantment!

World Ballet Series: Swan Lake

Swan Lake, the ballet of all ballets, will be performed one night only as a part of the World Ballet Series. See the iconic Dance of the Little Swans, count the 32 fouettés performed by Odile and immerse yourself in magical Tchaikovsky’s music.

ENOUGH: Plays to End Gun Violence

#ENOUGH: Plays to End Gun Violence is a nationwide effort to bring awareness to gun violence through theater. On the same evening across the country, theaters, schools, and community groups will stage readings of six (6) new 10-minute plays by teen writers confronting gun violence, selected by a committee of nationally-renowned playwrights. The UIS Performing Arts Center is pleased to join this effort in 2023.

An Our Stage / Our Voices play-in-progress

You are invited to be a part of an exciting, evolving theatre experience where your reactions and comments will help shape this play-in-progress by Our Stage / Our Voices Artist-in-Residence Tim Crawford. Join us for an evening of theatre that will begin with a selection of short plays written by participants in Tim’s recently completed Writing for the Stage Workshop, then experience a staged reading of Tim’s 1908 play-in-progress. The evening will culminate in a talkback session with the audience.

Brit Floyd – 50 Years of Dark Side

Brit Floyd returns to the stage in 2023 to perform a brand-new production celebrating 50 years of the ground-breaking and iconic musical masterpiece The Dark Side of the Moon. The show will feature classic tracks from the album such as Time, Money, Us and Them and The Great Gig in the Sky.

The 2 and a half hours plus set list will also include other highlights from Pink Floyd’s magnificent catalogue of albums, including tracks from The Wall, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Division Bell, Medal and much more.
