Join colleagues from across central Illinois for this workshop during which Professor Michael Gillespie will present guidelines for faculty who are interested in making course content more diverse, equitable, and inclusive and/or diversifying course content. The presentation will focus on ways instructors can provide a more comprehensive understanding of their subject matter, increase empathy, improve communication and teamwork skills, and validate their students’ experiences.  

Teaching with Google Earth - CFE/CSIL

Join colleagues from across central Illinois for this session during which we will hear about the Google Earth platform. The Google Earth platform is a giant 3D rendering of planet Earth. It combines satellite imagery with photos taken on the ground, allowing for both aerial and ground-level views from all over the world. In this session, we will learn how Google Earth can be used in both face-to-face and online classes.

Canvas Basics

Join COLRS staff to learn about navigating the Canvas interface and the foundational tools for organizing and building a course at UIS. Topics covered include: navigating, communicating with students, creating modules and assignments, and gradebook.
