Accessibility is a core component of inclusive and universal design, and it's often easier to make a page or document accessible as you author it rather than fixing the inaccessible parts later. In this session, Accessibility Specialist Alana Gomoll will give an introduction to common digital accessibility considerations with a focus on the tools available in Microsoft Office products and Canvas in order to equip you with the skills necessary to design accessible course materials and Canvas pages.

Please join Livia Arndal Woods (English) and Jose Luis Irizarry (Public Management and Policy) for an informational session to kick off a new OPEL Faculty Fellows Program on inclusive teaching.

For the next two years, Jose and Livia will be convening small monthly bookclub meetings (books provided) and larger day-long workshop/conference events to foster faculty community and development focused on DEI investments in the classroom and beyond.
