Bob Smith has decided to resign from his position of Dean of the College of Public Affairs and Education effective Wednesday, December 20, 2023 and will be moving to the position of full professor within the School of Public Management and Policy with teaching responsibilities beginning in the fall 2024 semester.

According to UIS policy, each academic year the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Provost notifies the UIS community of the names of those among the faculty scheduled for tenure review and second- or fourth-year reappointment review. Listed below are the names of the faculty members scheduled for reviews this academic year. Faculty review decisions involve critical commitments for the university and important steps for each individual involved. Brandon E. Schwab has been named the new vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at the University of Illinois Springfield. He will serve as vice chancellor-designate until formal approval by the Board of Trustees. He will start in his new role on July 17.
