Gary Anderson has been named the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for August 2022. He works as a business administrative associate for UIS Online, Professional, and Engaged Learning (OPEL). After 24 years of management in the private sector, Anderson began working for UIS in the Center for Academic Success in September 2018 before joining OPEL in August 2019. According to his nominator, he played an important role when multiple offices merged to form OPEL. |

The website continues to show dramatic improvements in site performance post-migration. The pageviews continues to increase from June to July by an overall 5.05% for 838,650 pageviews. The average time on the page also went up to 1.64% The bounce rate is holding strong at 1.14%. |
New Hire COVID Vaccine Communication

As the Covid-19 vaccines were rolled out, UIS created a policy stating: “All UIS faculty, staff, volunteers and long-term guests who work on the UIS campus or in off-campus UIS facilities must be fully vaccinated. New hires must be fully vaccinated and show proof thereof, or proof that they have begun the vaccination process, prior to their first scheduled day of work and upload their vaccine record to the Medicat patient portal once their employment begins.” |
UIS and LLCC enhance transfer admission agreement

Leaders from the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) and Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) signed an agreement today enhancing their partnership to ensure a smooth transition for LLCC students to complete bachelor’s degrees at UIS. The agreement also allows UIS students to utilize reverse transfer credits to complete associate degrees. |
