On Saturday, Oct. 12, at 10:30 a.m., the UIS women's cross country team will compete in the 6k race at the Lewis Crossover meet in Romeoville, Ill. Hosted by conference rival Lewis University, this annual event presents a significant challenge for the Prairie Stars as they face a range of Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) teams among other strong regional competition.

The Crossover meet is an important opportunity for the Prairie Stars to assess their progress against quality NCAA Division II teams. This race comes at a crucial point in the season, allowing the team to build momentum as they approach the championship stretch. Competing against familiar conference rivals will also provide valuable insights as they prepare to host the GLVC Championship on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The race is a crucial opportunity for the Prairie Stars to gain valuable experience and boost their regional standing. Six of the 10 regionally ranked teams from the Midwest will be in attendance, including nearby rivals such as Truman State.
