Illinois Springfield senior goalkeeper Allison Mirimanian has been named the GLVC Defensive Player of the Week after a stellar performance in the team's 2-0 victory over Indianapolis on Friday.
Mirimanian, an Exercise Science major from Silvis, Ill., anchored the defense with five critical saves in UIS's lone GLVC contest of the week. She faced 12 shots, five of which were on target, maintaining a clean sheet and playing a key role in the win.
This recognition marks Mirimanian's fourth career Defensive Player of the Week award and her first time receiving the honor twice in a single season. She previously earned the award on Sept. 16, 2024, Oct. 10, 2022, and Sept. 13, 2021.
The Prairie Stars, now at 6-6-3 overall and 6-5-1 in the GLVC, will look to continue their strong form as they return to Kiwanis Stadium to host the Upper Iowa Peacocks on Friday, Nov. 1, with kickoff set for 5:00 p.m.
