UIS golfer Elaine Grant has been named GLVC Player of the Week after an impressive showing at the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational over the weekend. Grant led the Prairie Stars to a fifth-place team finish, highlighted by a record-tying second round of 69 strokes.

Grant's stellar performance not only matched the UIS women's golf single-round record but also helped her climb from 10th to third place individually on the tournament's final day, finishing with rounds of 78 and 69 for a total of 147 strokes. This marked Grant's third top-five finish this fall and earned her the first GLVC Player of the Week honor of her career. She is the first UIS player to receive this recognition since Ocean Pangan in November 2018.

The Prairie Stars collectively showed notable improvement, lowering their score from a first-round 327 to a 306 in round two, finishing with a 633 total. With this performance, Grant concludes the fall season on a high note, setting the stage for a strong spring campaign next semester.
