The Illinois Springfield women's cross country team heads to the NCAA DII Midwest Regional Championship on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Lewis Cross Country Course in Romeoville, Ill., looking to break into the top 10 in the competitive Midwest region.
The Prairie Stars are coming off a fourth-place finish at the GLVC Championships, their best conference performance since 2020. Junior Maddie Miller, who earned All-GLVC honors with an 8th-place finish, leads a deep lineup that includes All-GLVC honoree Kaleigh Inniss and senior Jordan Serrahn, who narrowly missed the all-conference cut two weeks ago.
The women's 6k race will feature several top-10 nationally ranked programs and regional powerhouses. UIS will rely on its depth, with runners like Emma Leahy, Marissa Roggensack, and Lillian Buzani stepping up as key contributors in recent meets.
