The UIS women's track and field team delivered standout performances at the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic in Louisville on Friday, taking on a competitive field at the event hosted by former GLVC opponent Bellarmine. Madelyn Miller led the way, breaking a three-year-old school record in the women's indoor 3,000-meter run with an exceptional performance.

Meet Highlights 
  • Madelyn Miller stole the show in the seeded division of the women's 3,000-meter run, clocking 9:48.45 to secure first place. Her time set a new UIS school record, surpassing Taryn Christy's 9:50.79 from 2022, and ranks No. 21 in NCAA Division II this season. Miller's performance also met the NCAA DII provisional mark.
  • Kaleigh Inniss followed closely behind, finishing sixth with a personal best of 10:15.07, which ranks No. 67 in NCAA Division II.
  • Marissa Roggensack opened the day with a strong third-place finish in the open 3,000 meters, running 10:37.29 behind a pair from Xavier. 
  • Josslyn Gaona executed a strong double, placing eighth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:25.41 before returning to clock a personal best 5:22.42 in the mile, an 11-second improvement from her performance last week.
